Your heating and cooling system is the most important component ensuring you are comfortable in your home. At SOS Heating & Cooling we have been servicing heating and cooling systems since 1950. The main reason for the longevity is that we take care of you, the customer.
We do not pay our technicians commissions for changing out parts. This results in fair treatment to our customers. If the problem can be fixed in an hour that is all you are charged for. During each visit we do a full inspection of the entire system, alerting you of any future repair issues.
Unlike many of our competitors, we do not charge a diagnostic fee for service calls. We come to your home with the intent to repair. We charge $90/hr plus parts for residential customers and $100/hr plus parts for commercial. There is a one hour minimum. We do not charge a trip fee. We believe this pricing policy is the most fair to our customers. The majority of repairs are minor and only result in an hour labor charge plus a minimal part charge. One of the last things on your mind is your heating and cooling system, until it stops working. This always seems to happen at the worst possible time. Probably on the hottest day of the year, when every service company in town is busy. Heating and cooling failure makes for a very stressful and unhappy home. For a business, failure results in dissatisfied customers, uncomfortable employees, and ultimately lost profits for your organization. This is why it makes sense to enroll in a maintenance program. This is the best deal we offer, here are the reasons why:
• As a POM customer your equipment will be serviced on a bi-annual basis. • Each visit we will make sure your filter is clean. All controls are checked, cleaned, and lubricated as needed. • You will receive a 10% discount on any additional parts needed during each visit. • You get priority status on any service call you may have between checks. This means you will be put before any non-contract holding customers. • Additionally, you will receive alabor discount of 18%. • You have guaranteed 24 hour emergency service with us. • You will receive a 5% discount on any future equipment purchases.
Is your system MORE than 10 years old?
We recommend our standard Peace of Mind (POM) contract! You will receive 2 maintenance checks per contract term. The AC will be done in the spring when the temperatures are warm enough, and the furnace will be done in the fall, September or later. Click below for more details.

The quote was detailed and understandable, the installation was scheduled fast, and the communication was clear all throughout. Installing my new system, Steve, Rudy, and Jim did a great job. They kept the work area very clean, were professional and personable but unobtrusive, and were great after. Not just going through the system with me, but taking care of countless small details (like transitioning my condenser drain pipe from pvc to tubing to allow a low clearance drain cover, or setting up and labelling a new damper in an existing duct to allow me better control). I’m glad a friend recommended them!

SOS Heating & Cooling has been around Omaha area for many years. It is family owned and was started by the grandfather, then his son and now his son (Jon). In this case, my interest was to simply replace an old tired heat pump, yet our furnace was only 8 years old and was still good. I reached out to them via Angie’s List and Jon was very responsive and built the quote on his laptop during the walk through visit. His bid was about $100 lower than the other lowest bid, but there was a much stronger value in the product and support. They installed a 3.5 ton York heat pump that is manufactured in Wichita (USA made) and they bundled a service contract for 10 years on parts and labor. -That is one heck of a value proposition.
The system was ordered and arrived in about a week and we set up installation date. His technicians are very experienced and one of the guys has been with the SOS family 41 years and the other 44 years. I love that about these two! One of them said he sees his teammate more than he sees his wife!! LOL
They were accommodating, informational and they laid protective coverings on the paths in the house so the floors/carpets didn’t get dirty. Both know the precautions regarding COVID and wore their mask the entire day except while working on the heat pump outdoors.
Without reservation, I would encourage you to get to know the SOS family and do business with a local that earns your respect immediately and throughout the process. Hands down 5 stars!!
