Our team of experts is here to answer your most pressing FAQs about air conditioning, heating, and indoor air quality. With our commitment to straightforward pricing and on-time service, you can trust SOS Heating & Cooling to provide the answers and solutions you need.

At SOS Heating & Cooling we believe in fair pricing and honest opinions. That’s why we’re the oldest and largest locally owned company in Omaha. We don’t pay our technicians commission so you get trustworthy service. We don’t mark up our prices for new equipment or play games like other companies. You get a fair price whether you have no heat/cooling, or if you’re looking for the best deal.

Unlike many of our competitors, we do not charge a diagnostic fee or trip fee for service call and come to your home with the intent to repair. We charge $95/hr plus parts for residential customers and $110/hr plus parts for commercial. The majority of repairs are minor and only result in an hour labor charge plus a minimal part charge.

Other companies pay their techs commission so they get paid more if they sell you, or scare you into buying parts you may or may not need. Our technicians are not paid commissions for changing out parts, so you only get their honest opinion. SOS Founder Leroy Stuehm said, “If you’re selling a person something they don’t need, you won’t be working here anymore.” We stand by that principle to this day.

Firstly, we assess your home to determine the best AC system for your needs. This includes sizing the unit correctly and considering the layout of your home.

Next, we install the unit by properly connecting it to your ductwork and electrical systems. Finally, we test the system to guarantee optimal performance.

Ductless AC systems are great for targeted cooling in specific areas and are easier to install in homes without existing ductwork. On the other hand, central AC systems are ideal for cooling entire homes uniformly. They require ductwork but can be more efficient in the long run for larger spaces.

If your air conditioner isn’t blowing cold air in Pottawattamie County, it could be due to several reasons. It might be a simple issue like a dirty air filter or a more complex problem like a refrigerant leak or a malfunctioning compressor.

If your thermostat is on but there’s no heat, it could indicate issues with your furnace or heating system. It could be due to a tripped circuit breaker, a malfunctioning thermostat, or a problem with the furnace itself.

If your furnace is blowing cold air, turning it off might be a good first step. It could be a sign of an overheating issue or a problem with the furnace’s ignition system. In Greater Omaha and the surrounding areas, our team can inspect your furnace, identify the problem, and provide a reliable solution.

Signs that your mini-split is low on Freon include reduced cooling capacity, ice formation on the refrigerant lines, and higher-than-usual energy bills. If you’re in Council Bluffs and suspect a Freon issue, having a professional check your system is important.
